In America, you’re (allegedly) innocent until proven guilty. Not so much recently, thanks to things like the PATRIOT Act, but in the beginning, that was the intent. So, I can’t judge Michael Vick quite yet, because he may be innocent, though the details of his indictment seem pretty damning. But, I can say this: if this is true, Vick should be treated to a few rounds of the exact same treatment he gave those dogs. Let someone drown him and/or electrocute him and see how he feels about it. Only if he’s guilty, of course.
Seriously…I understand that some godforsaken people in this world don’t think dogfighting is wrong (it is, but I realize some people are either morons or evil or both). Dogfighting is wrong on so many levels, but coming up with different ways to kill a dog just to see what happens as alleged is evil on a whole other level. I’m talking serial killer level. I sincerely hope that if he’s guilty, he gets the max sentence and penalties available, and that when he’s in prison, he becomes someone’s wife. Then, when he gets out of prison, I hope a dog bites his nuts off.
Serial killer-like violence aside, how anyone making millions of dollars a year to play a game can be so stupid as to risk losing it all on something where the payoff is a few thousands of dollars is beyond me. It makes no sense to me, but then again, how anyone can derive pleasure from mistreating animals makes no sense to me either.
